Land and cultivation in the western highlands
This selection of images of corn cultivation and land were taken on repeated visits in
1996 and 1997 to the Sierra Panimaquín, an area of the western
highlands of Guatemala
popularly referred to as Alaska. It is
a hauntingly beautiful area along the Pan American highway at
about 11,000 feet, straddling the provinces of Totonicapán and Sololá. more
